Sale Sharks have special shirt for special game

Sale Sharks vs London Irish on 16th April at the Reebok stadium now has a special shirt made for the occasion for the Sale Sharks team to wear on the day.
One of Europe’s leading cancer centres; The Christie, has had a special charity shirt made for the game to raise awareness of the charity and to help raise funds. The charity’s main colour of dark red is featured in the shirt.
Players visited young patients at the centre before christmas.
The shirt was officially unveiled by first team players James Gaskell, Chris Jones and Chris Bell at a special event held at the Mint hotel in Manchester.
All shirts that the players use at the game will be auctioned off with all the funds going to the charity.
Jenny Haskey, the corporate fundraising and sporting events head at The Christie, said,“We are honoured to welcome Sale Sharks as a new charity partner.
“Some of their star players were kind enough to visit our teenage cancer unit before Christmas and were a real hit with our patients.
“We hope this special shirt is the start of a winning partnership for The Christie charity and Sale Sharks both on and off the field.”
Sale Sharks player, Mark Cueto, said, “The whole team are really excited about playing London Irish at this year’s Rugby at the Reebok. They are a strong side so it will be a tough and challenging match. We are very proud to be wearing the special Christie match day jerseys. A few of the players have been to The Christie to see how some of the money raised is put to use. It really made us all stop and think about what an important and crucial role the charity plays in enabling places like The Christie to provide essential treatment and care for cancer patients and their families.”
