XeroxFirm promises advanced security and increased productivity

Xerox has released three new printers pitched at a range of office requirements. The WorkCentre 7700 series, WorkCentre 4250 and Phaser 6140 offer new features including the ability to print up to 75 pages per minute (ppm).

“We have been hard at work bringing our advanced multi-function and printer technologies to our entire product line,” said Malcolm Glynn, product marketing manager at Xerox. “Benefits of this latest collection of office products include advanced security, superior print quality and increased productivity.”

The 7700 series includes three models – the 7755, 7765 and 7775 – and offers an A3 colour multifunction system delivering at 2,400 x 2,400 dpi resolution.

The devices also include a number of security features, including the ability to hold print jobs in a queue until a password is entered, which might prove useful in shared office spaces. The printers comply with security protocols including 802.1x and IPSec for both IPv4 and IPv6, and do not store documents on the hard disk.

The WorkCentre 4250 offers black and white printing at up to 43ppm, and has a large, easy-to-use touch-screen. The 4250 offers security tools along with two-sided printing and a range of fax capabilities.

Finally, the Phaser 6140 is an A4 colour laser printer pitched at individuals and small work teams. The device will print black and white sheets at 20ppm and colour pages at 18ppm.

The 6140 can recognise and ignore blank pages to save time and money, and has an energy-saving intelligent sleep mode. All three devices are Energy Star qualified and form part of Xerox’s Green World Alliance agenda.
