October 7th, 2009 Posted in General, Industry News, Printer ReviewsXerox yesterday unveiled to the press one of its most significant product launches to date, the ColorQube 9200 Series, the world’s first high speed, solid ink multifunction system which could cut the cost of printing colour by up to 62 per cent, compared to traditional lasers. Supermarket giant Tesco’s is already a major user.
Because of the propietary solid ink technology it is also kinder to the environment. Being cartridge-free it generates up to 90 per cent less waste than comparable products. For resellers Xerox says there is more investment in marketing support for this product than ever before.
The more colour pages printed, the more the customer saves and the new billing system means that pages with small amounts of colour are billed at the same rate as black and white pages. On most colour pages, the price will drop significantly. Each solid ink colour is uniquely shaped for easy drop-in loading by the user, and ink can be topped off at any time. and the ColorQube holds enough solid ink to print over 55,500 pages before replenishing.
Software solutions from Equitrac, iXware, Nuance, X-Solutions and other third parties provide advanced print management, cost recovery, faxing and scanning capabilities.
