Brother and Sony get in the mood for Halloween

August 14th, 2009 Posted in General, Industry News

Printer manufacturer Brother has teamed with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to launch a promotion to mark the 25th anniversary of the cult film Ghostbusters. An online competition offers a prize of a trip to New York to enjoy Halloween American style.

Those who don’t win the grand prize will have the consolation of knowing that the famous paranormal psychologists are back to save the world – in a high-definition Sony release of Ghostbusters on Blu-ray disc – while a commemorative online game created by Brother offers a prize of a trip to the city where the 1980s movie was set.

The global game – featuring the iconic Ghostbusters’ character, Slimer – tasks contestants with collecting Brother ink droplets in the spooky game while an online scoreboard tracks the top players.

Brother is promoting the competition on its inkjet cartridge packs so that users can learn more about the competition and how to take part.

The contest runs until end-November, with the winner being the contestant who completes all five levels in the fastest time. For runners-up there are prizes of Sony home entertainment equipment, plus Ghostbusters goodies as weekly prizes for those who achieve the fastest time each week.
