Sharks Paired With Toulouse In Next Season’s Heineken Cup

The draw for the Heineken Cup (2009-2010) Groups was made in Paris earlier this week and Sale Sharks will play their games in Group 5. Also in our group are Toulouse, and last seasons beaten semi finalists Cardiff Blues and Harlequins.
Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones gave his reaction to the draw by saying, “ It’s a very difficult looking group on paper, and I can’t see any side winning all their games. Cardiff were very unlucky last season to go out the way they did and Quins put up a great fight against Leinster. Toulouse are former winners of the Heineken Cup and will be looking to improve on their form in the competition over the past couple of years. Winning our home games will be a priority and we will need to pick something up on our travels too.”

ROUND 1 – 9/10/11 October 2009
ROUND 2 – 16/17/18 October 2009
ROUND 3 -11/12/13 December 2009
ROUND 4 -18/19/20 December 2009
ROUND 5 – 15/16/17 January 2010
ROUND 6 – 22/23/24 January 2010
ERC will now formulate the fixtures and then SKY television will then decide the games they want to broadcast. Dates and kick off times of rounds 1- 4. Rounds 5 & 6 dates etc will not be announced until after Round 4 has been completed.
