Sale Sharks 500 Club Touch Rugby Tournament A Success

Sale Sharks 500 Club members enjoyed a chance in a lifetime experience of stepping onto the same pitch as their Sharks heroes and playing against other members at last Thursday’s first annual 500 Club Touch Rugby tournament here at Edgeley park.
The day saw over 50 people dust off there rugby boots and head down to the home of the sharks for the 5th and final, and in my eyes the best, event of the Sale Sharks 500 Club this season.
Each business club member was selected into one of four teams, with each team playing 3 pool games plus one extra playoff/final.
The eventual winners of the day were Bombrys’ Bombers captained by our very own commercial director Nathan Bombrys in a final that went to extra time.
The players were then treated to a presentation followed by a well-earned BBQ dinner prepared by our own Cheshire Conference Centre and a chance to network with other members, whilst also swapping a few stories about their try scoring and a few more about how sore they would be in the morning.
We received numerous requests from the 500 Club members to include the day in next years calendar of events. We will be encouraging businesses to enter full squads of ten and help us expand the tournament for next season.
