OKI claims warranty first
April 2nd, 2009 Posted in Industry News, PrinterlandVendor is first in print market to extend three-year warranty offer to entire product portfolio
Print giant OKI has extended its three-year warranty offer to its entire product portfolio and has claimed it is the only printer manufacturer to make this move.
The cost-free, three-year on-site warranty is for the whole EMEA region and includes printers, serial interface dot matrix devices, faxes and multi-functional equipment.
Phil Scrase, UK managing director of OKI Printing Solutions, said: ““In the current economic climate where users are naturally cautious about investment decisions, this offer underlines the confidence OKI has in its product portfolio.”
To activate warranties, customers or channel partners have to register online, by telephone or by post within 30 days, providing their name, address, product serial number and the date of purchase. This provides all-inclusive next-day service on-site, including travel time and labour costs as well as parts.
Scrase said the move will also benefit OKI’s channel partners.
“By introducing the new warranty, we are providing customers with a further value add, giving them another compelling reason to place their trust in OKI’s solutions,” he said. “At the same time, we are reaching out to our channel partners and giving them another string to their bow as they engage with end users on our behalf.”
Much of OKI Printing Solutions’ success comes from its ability to anticipate and respond to changing customer requirements, Scrase said. “This important new OKI initiative highlights our proactive approach, by giving customers the confidence that they will maintain maximum availability of their business-critical in-house printing capability in today’s competitive commercial environment.
“At the same time, it enables us to respond more quickly should they make a product support call after registration. More broadly, it helps us improve further our ability to communicate with customers via the channel of their choice.”
